The Next Stage for Results in Africa: Third Annual Meeting Report

The AfCoP held its Third Annual Meeting, from March 22-24 in Dakar, Senegal. It provided an exciting opportunity for members to reflect on the successes of the AfCoP over the past three years and begin planning for a second phase of implementation. The Dakar meeting constitutes a turning point in the AfCoP’s history. A strategic phase II was endorsed, ensuring that the AfCoP will continue to increase its impact at the country level, broaden its regional partnerships and give a new impetus to its analytical work.

The Annual Meeting Report available here details that participants agreed on the following important points to guide the AfCoP Phase II:
- A shift toward building individual and institutional capacity
- Linkages with national development processes
- Cooperation with regional institutions
- Commitment to focus on South-South knowledge sharing on MfDR.
- A more effective Core Management Team (CMT)

This meeting also confirmed the AfCoP’s role as a major player in the development field. With over 1,200 members from across Africa and around the world, the AfCoP represents a tremendous force in the field of Managing for Development Results.
