Summary of the January Core Management Team Meetings

Meetings of the AfCoP Core Management Team (CMT) were convened in January.

The AfCoP has completed most of its 2009 work plan, achieved its original objectives and is now reaching the end of its initial 3-year period of funding. The community is therefore at a critical juncture and make decisions on its second phase strategy. This meeting aimed at defining this new strategy.

It was decided that the AfCoP would achieve greater impact at the country level and roll out National Chapters formally endorsed by governments to that effect. This summary of the meetings details the decisions made. At the moment, the CMT members are preparing a concept note that details the new AfCoP strategy.
