Launch of the first AfCoP Live Sourcebook on Managing for Development Results

African MfDR case studies are unfolding LIVE on the AfCoP website, for the first time ever! One of the key pillars of the AfCoP on MfDR is its online platform, developed to be a central hub for sharing experiences and developing MfDR capacity. It is therefore, natural that its first Sourcebook is also being developed online, LIVE! This format allows for a more dynamic presentation of cases, through the use of multi-media (photos, videos, and audio clips) and, more importantly, for a genuine dialogue.

AfCoP members are already asking questions and posting comments about the two case studies that have been launched so far on the AfCoP website. In her case, Dr. Rosa Muraguri-Mwololo makes a critical analysis of the complexities of the Global Environment Facility’s attempt to achieve results. The second case study, developed by Ledule Bosch, explores how we can be sure if social grants improve citizen’s lives when other interventions claim the same. Finally, on the Francophone site, Seydou Yayé analyzes the implementation of the MfDR Capacity Scan (CAP-Scan) in Niger. More case studies are still to come!

This process will continue over the next monts. After that, the final printed publication of the AfCoP Sourcebook will be prepared in French and English, and will include two types of cases: the one that are developed only in a written format and those initially developed online.

The AfCoP welcomes your live comments, questions and reactions to these case studies!

Thanks Tayani, that is a brilliant comment and observation. Unfortunately, as argued by many scholars, and I concur, a lot of aid has gone more to serve adherents ideologies than nations it is purportedly meant for. But receiving government…
