The Independent Evaluation Group (IEG) of the World Bank Group is establishing
a roster of consultants for potential evaluation assignments of private sector
projects guaranteed by MIGA, mostly in private infrastructure, banking and
manufacturing.
As the evaluations will focus on private sector interventions, potential
incumbents should therefore meet the following criteria:
Comprehensive know-how of development evaluation methodologies for evaluating
of private sector projects (preferably ex post project evaluation
methodologies), evidenced by a track record in conducting high-quality
evaluations of private sector projects (> 3 years) as well as professional
training in evaluations;
Experience in conducting evaluations of private sector projects, such as
private infrastructure (incl power, transportation, water and waste
management, telecom), project finance-supported structures, banking and
capital markets projects, extractive industries (oil, gas and mining) or
agribusiness, manufacturing & services.
High level of competence in applying financial and economic data modeling
techniques, in particular familiar with FRR and ERR calculations;
Experience working in developing countries.
Fluency in English with excellent writing and communications skills;
Willingness to travel; and ability to work under minimal supervision;
Commitment to the learning and accountability goals of development evaluation
