CoP-MfDR-Africa

Since the third AfCoP Annual Meeting held last March in Dakar, Senegal, the new Core Management Team (CMT) dedicated its efforts to develop a work plan strongly results-oriented for 2010-2011. I am pleased to inform you that this document is now ready.

A New CMT

But let me first introduce the members of the new AfCoP’s CMT, listed here. To move forward the AfCoP’s agenda and its work plan, the CMT was restructured in five Internal Management Teams – Communication and advocacy, Partnerships, National CoPs, Knowledge Management and Monitoring – and four Thematic Teams – Leadership, Monitoring and Evaluation with statistics, Accountability and Partnerships, and Planning and Budgeting. The internal management teams implement the work plan to meet the objectives of the community. The thematic teams are responsible for developing analytical work and sharing knowledge in one specific area of Managing Development Results (MfDR). Together, these teams constitute the CMT, provide strategic leadership for the Community and respond to members’ needs.

A New Work Plan

Now let’s discuss about the new work plan available here. This document includes both planning and reporting instruments. It has been developed with clear expected outcomes to achieve and activities to conduct for each CMT Teams. The team responsible for monitoring the implementation of this work plan will use it to develop its results framework and link the reporting to the implementation.

Finally, I want to thank all CMT members, old and new ones, for the energy they have dedicated to developing the work plan, which is already being implemented. I invite you all to discover this document. Through its implementation, we are working together more than ever before to strengthen capacity to manage for results in Africa.

It is good to see even my current restructured department with clear specified duties and responsibility is directly aligned to the new CMT. It is the best way that we can share experience and working systems mainly among Africans.
