Dear Woubet Kifle and all, Greetings and Happy New Year! I think in many african countries, as you have wrightly indicated, there is a "lack of" political will. Which many of us agree on that it is imperative to bring the change that we…

Political Will, Who can get it Done?!?!

It has been a theoretical and an empirical phenomena that almost all development endeavours presuppose some form of positive government engagement. This incudes the promotion of democracy, sustainable development and many more. In contrast, African countries have long been lacking in the political will needed to support all the positive endeavours. And there has emerged two perspectives on how to obtain the political will. The frist one looks at the government machinery and methods to inculcate…See More

Hello Dear Woubet,
This is Abebe from Addis Ababa university,Economics Msc student. Woubet, I am working my theses on health and economic growth and when I google related literature, I got ur Msc paper and read the whole parts of it. I got it interesting! my work is on African countries. to run my regression, by using Barro & Lee education dataset for one of my control variable, education. When I collect data, I got Ethiopian education data in this dataset is missed. For this reason, I would not like to exclude our country from my sample.Fortunately, I read from your paper that you have formed a dataset on ethiopian average years of education in the Barro_Lee fashion. Dear woubet may I acknowledge and use your education dataset, please? I am not able to know your email to communicate with. I made a lot of attempt to meet you face to face, but someone told me that you are not in ethiopia at this moment. when I google your name I got this link and then I also joined the group to be able to write this msg to you Woubet, Please let me know your response via my email address of ' abebeamb@yahoo.com '
Thank you in advance
yours,
Abebe Ambachew
