Preparing Medium Term National Development Plan such as "Plan for Accelerated and Sustained Development to End Poverty-PASDEP", Growth and transformation Plan (GTP), spanning the Five-Year period 2010/11-2014/15, organize and consolidate sectoral socio-economic information for planning and research purposes; Prepare the Annual Progress Reports (APRs) on the Second, Third and Fourth Years of PASDEP-1 implementation and the revise the Five year implementation progress challenges encountered and way forwards; presenting a review paper on Ethiopia’s performance on regional integration to COMESA office, technical committee on Ethiopia’s Accession to the WTO, revising tariff of the country in collaboration with Ethiopian Customs and Revenue Authority; Coordinating project funded by both bilateral and multilateral ODA that are related to Development Planning, Conducting a project feasibility study and commenting on project proposal funded by international development partners like EU and UN agencies on pro-poor sectors like education, water, infrastructure and health ; Monitoring and evaluation of the projects and programs being undertaken by Development partners ; conducting Survey of the Ethiopian Economy Volume III (2003/04-2009/10) a research that gives insight about the overall socio-economic status of the country, with superior involvement on Gross output and external sector; conducting socio-economy researches such as the 'Dynamics of Growth and Poverty in Ethiopia ', 'MDG achievement assessments', 'African peer Review Mechanism(APRM) ' etc.; Provide comments on various Research Documents with National scope forwarded to the Development Planning and Research Directorate (DPRD) for review and feedbacks; revising and giving comments on public sector development projects presented to the Ministry of Finance and Economic development both on pre-feasibility and feasibility study ; Participate on preparation of macroeconomic modelling used to forecast the macroeconomic outlook of the country for the next 7-10 years in cooperation with different stakeholders like Ethiopian Economic Association, Addis Ababa University; Collect, compile and analyze different macro economic data sets like inflation, unemployment, GDP and other national account figures and present to all policy makers and stakeholder to see the progress, foresee the challenges could be encountered and propose remedies action, these data sets are also used for a different desk research undertaken by Development Planning and Research Directorate staffs especially for those in Development Research Case teams ; Focal person on Works done in coordination with different research institution such as Ethiopian Economic Association (EEA), Ethiopian Development Research institute and Addis Ababa University Department of Economics ; Discharge other duties directed by the Head of DPRD of MOFED,.
